Monster hugs!

Sometimes you just come a cross a set of stamps that makes you smile from ear to ear!  Last month, I feel in love with Kraftin’ Kimmie’s new sloth themed set called Wanna Hang.  This month, my new love interest happens to be a darling set of little monsters called Monster Hugs!  I’m willing to bet these cuties will make you smile too!

Monster-closeupWhen pulling this card together, I wanted to have some really, bright happy colours so I dug into my crafty stash and found a great collection from Pink Paislee called Soiree!  I then coloured up the image with Copics to match the paper (I almost alwasy start by picking my paper first…it’s so much easier to match the colouring that way)!

The final step for me was to fussy cut the monster.  Why? Well, because I wanted him to be able to actually dance!  Really!  I decided to put him on top of an “Action Wobble” so he could get his groove on!

Monster-angledIf you’ve never seen Action Wobbles, they are just little plastic springs with adhesive on each end.  They make it really easy to add movement to different parts of your card.  You could do the same thing simply with a little floral wire and a bit of tape – and trust me, when you see this little guy wiggle with his tambourine in hand, you’ll know what I mean!

Now, it might be preview week, but it is also Saturday, so that means it is challenge time!
This week our challenge hostess is SHARON! And her challenge is ANYTHING GOES!! So create a card, scrapbook page or altered item with a Kraftin’ Kimmie stamp with no restrictions! We hope you can play along for your chance to WIN some NEW Kraftin’ Kimmie rubbah!!!

Bloomin’ Wonderful!

The tulips are coming up!  The tulips are coming up!  We may still have had snow just yesterday, but our tulips are still determined to make an appearance! And it’s a good thing, because today’s preview at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps is all about beautiful, blooming flowers!

Gardner-closeupThis little beauty is from a new set called BLOOMIN’ WONDERFUL, and you are going to be blown away by all the possibilities shared by the Krafty Girls.  I decided to team this one up with some fun and bright paper from Pink Paislee.  The stamp is coloured with Copics, and I decided to try my hand at yellow!  I use yellow a lot when colouring, but it is usually in small spots.  I was a bit nervous to tackle a whole dress and pleats, but I love the way it turned out.  Hmmmm, I think I might need to get some refills for those yellows after all!

ALL of our APRIL stamps will be available on Saturday morning at the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Shop! In the meantime, make sure you pop back tomorrow because you will be blown away by the cuties we have to show you!

Thanks for stopping by!

November KKS Kard Kit fun!

November Kard Kit I am so excited to share this post with you today!  Last month, Kimmie from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps asked if I would be interested in playing with the November Kard Kit, which happens to feature great paper from Bo Bunny’s Love Letters collection, great Bazzill cardstock and more!  Well, that was not a hard decision, and while I shared one of the designs back during our release, I have 6 more to show you today.

That’s right  - 7 projects in total  completed with product from this kit, and lots still left over too!  So, hold onto your hats – here we go!

This first little card was one I featured a couple of weeks ago for the November release.  It features a cute stamp from the Love is in the Air stamp set.  I love the little heart shaped trinket on this cute card!

This is one of my favourites!  It also features a stamp from the  Love is in the Air stamp set, and I think it coordinates perfectly with the BoBunny stamp themed patterned paper.

Okay, I know I said the last one was a favourite, but the combination of Hannah Hearts and that cute heart-shaped doily is so awesome!  If you are a Copic user, Hannah’s clothing and hearts were coloured with combinations of BG11, BG 13, BG15, BG18, R20, RV23, R81, R83, R89.  I also used some of the cool greys for the skirt. In fact, these were the colours I used on most of the images for these projects!
Criss-Cross-KK-closed Criss-Cross-KK-open

Before this release, I had never made a criss-cross card before!  I loved them so much, I made two (see the other one here)!  This one features an adorable stamp from the Sending All My Love set and Candy Hearts.  I think this would make a fantastic anniversary card too!

Lulu from Sending All My Love is hanging out on this side-stepped card. I actually modified one of the 6X6 black card bases that comes in this kit to create the card base.  If that seems a little to much to take on, you could always fold the base out of another piece of cardstock, and then you would have one more black card base for another project.  Hmmm – why didn’t I think of that sooner?? ;)

This darling stamp is called Owl Love.  These two are the perfect size to pair with the heart-shaped doily, which also happens to fit perfectly on the 6X6 black card base.  You could also colour the owls up in more traditional colours, but I love how they corrdinate with this paper.
Mini-postit-openLast, but not least, after I finsihed my cards, I was looking for one more project to create with the bits and pieces I hd left from my kit.  So I decided to team up the Candy Hearts stamps with some mini sticky notes for some cute little girls to give away on Valentine’s Day.  I happen to love stationary A LOT, so any chance to play with sticky notes and such is fun, fun, FUN!

Well, that’s it for me!  Thanks for hanging in there with me for all these projects, and I hope there is some inspiration in there for you!  If nothing else, it’s a great way to see how similar papers and colours can be used in all sort of ways!  Oh, and make sure you pop by Kraftin’ Kimmie to see all the details on this great kit and all these new stamps!  I know you’ll love it as much as I do!

Happy Birthday (and happy shopping)!

It’s a special day today – not only is it our NOVEMBER RELEASE Day at KRAFTIN’ KIMMIE STAMPS, but it is also my mom’s birthday!  So I am celebrating with a cute little card featurign one of the new relesese stamps from the TOGETHER IS BETTER set!

Lexi-balloon-closeupI teamed Lexi up with some MME Alphabet soup paper and then coloured her up with my Copics. It’s a little hard to tell in the pictures, but I also topped off her balloon with a bit of Glossy Accents for some great shine!  Lexi is a great addition to any “love” themed card, but I also think she makes a darling birthday card!  I hope mom agrees!

You will get to see ALL of the new images today as you sit back and enjoy our NOVEMBER Krafty Hop! As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stampers will win packages of these incredible stamps from the new release! And when you’re done hoppin’, be sure to head over to the Kraftin’Kimmie shop, because ALL the new images are available NOW!

Well, I am off to make cupcakes!  Thanks for stopping by!
