Hugs from mummy!

Halloween is just around the corner and I have to admit that I am having so much with Halloween crafts this year! A few years ago, Halloween was not a time of year that I got all excited about in the crafts department…until I discovered the world of cute spook crafting…like this cute stamp from Tiddly Inks called Pum’kin Juice Party.

This month over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog, we have a challenge all about Halloween, so I thought it might be fun to pull together another sample to inspire some more creations.  This cute was coloured up with Copics to match some of Doodlebug’s newest Halloween-themed collection – Booville.  Teamed up with a handwritten sentiment from this “mummy”, I can’t wait to give this to one of my little munchkins in a couple of weeks.

How about you?  Do you have any Halloween crafts on the go right now?

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween fun!

It’s Halloweens time!  Okay, it’s not quite Halloween time, but it is time to get Halloween crafty!  And the good news is that Christy from Tiddly Inks has some new goodies to get us all excited about getting the good old markers out!

Now, the truth of the matter is that there are no shortage of cute Halloween images over at Tiddly Inks!  But today, I wanted to introduce you to my favourite little collection called Pum’kin Juice Party.  This set comes with a whole bunch of cute kitty-themed images that will have you crafting from now right up until Halloween – not only because there are so many, but because they are so cute that you won’t want to stop!

I teamed up these images with some cute paper from Doodlebug.  This is one of their new collection called Booville.  It has lots of great colours to work with, and I find that it is really easy to match my Copics with Doodlebug’s colours.

It makes for easy work when I am colouring, and while I love a good crafting challenge every now and again, struggling to find coordinating paper is not one of them!

Now, given that it is the first Tuesday of the month, that also means that it is challenge time at the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog. If you hadn’t guessed, the theme is Spookaboo, so we are all about Halloween.  If you haven’t had a chance to check out the design team’s inspiration pieces, make sure you pop over to do that!  And then, it’s your turn to get crafty!  We always love to see what you come up with.

Now, given that I have some Halloween crafts under my belt, I think that warrants a little sneak into the stash of Halloween candy, right?

Summer long gone!

One month ago, I was just getting back from three weeks in Florida with my family.  We had a great time, and given the amount of time my girls spent in the pool (and the sheer joy my youngest displayed when she met Ariel), it’s fair to say that they must be part mermaid.  So, while summer is definitely gone, I am pulling out the mermaids as a reminder of those great memories!

Sept-30-front

Wryn is one of my favourite Tiddly Inks characters.  Sept-30--cuWhile she is cute no matter what circumstance she finds herself in, it is her hair that makes her my favourite to colour. When I first started colouring, I loved how the pieces and layers Christy creates in her drawings really helped me learn where to put the darks and lights.  Wryns hair always seems to steal the show, and wheter I am using my E11/13/15/18 combination (like I did here) or something else, I am rarely disappointed!  And given all the detail in the stamp as a whole, Wryn really stands out, even on a clean and simple card design like this one.

So what do you think? Do you love to colour hair?

Molly My Sweet – Anything Goes challenge

Sept-20-front

I love cupcakes. Okay wait – I love everything about cupcakes except for the eating part.  I have to admit that while I love baking and decorating cupcakes with my girls and while I love watching them eat all the icing off of the top, I myself would rather have just about any kind of baked good.  But given that there are so many other things about cupcakes that I think are fantastic, I still feel confident in saying – I love cupcakes! 🙂

Sept-20-cuThis cute new image from Tiddly Inks is another reason to love cupcakes (Molly My Sweet)  Christy has created a new character called Molly, and she is a cutie!  I have a feeling that she is going to find herself on at least one of many scrapbook pages I have with baking pictures of my girls – not to mention a few birthday cards here and there too.  I coloured Molly up to match some cute Doodlebug paper from the Sugar Shoppe collection.  The BG11/13/15 combination was used for her dress.  This is the colour I usually use to outline my images so its always fun to try something different every now and again.

So, while I think I am off to bake some cupcakes now, you need to head over to the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog to get in on this weeks challenge!  And just in case you are not a cupcake person, the challenge is actually ANYTHING GOES, so the sky is the limit (and no excuses).  We always love to see what you come up with, so make sure you pull together a crafty project featuring a Tiddly Inks image and you are all set to go. Oh, and if you have a cupcake recipe that is yummy, feel free to share that too (here though, not on the challenge blog ;).
