Wishing you all the best this Christmas…

…and into the New Year!  Merry Christmas and happy holidays, no matter what you are celebrating this season! I am off to celebrate with family (Christmas Eve is the big day for us) and I hope this season finds you healthy, happy and joyful!

Sooooo…I thought I was finished….

…but as I started filling in Christmas cards, I realized that while i had enough for all the cards I send, I forgot to take into account the ones I give away at work.  So, it was back to the crafty table this morning (life is tough)!

I decided to work with some digi’s from Whimsie Doodles that I haven’t for a bit. If I remember correctly, I think I used this one for some hot chocolate gift tags a couple of years ago…I might just have to tuck a pouch inside this one too! I cloured the image up with my trusty Copics to match the cute Sugarplums collection from Doodlebug (I am down to my last scraps from this collection…sigh).

And then I decided to add a little Christmas twist to a digi called Penelope.  This dig hold a special place in my heart… both of my daughters wear glasses and this was one of the first images I found that was a character with glasses that wasn’t “nerd” themed (and sadly still one of the few that I have).  I am thinking that I might hang on to this card for my oldest…although I guess that means I will have to make even more cards!

Anyway, I hope that you aren’t still Christmas card making!  But if you are – Whimsie Doodles does have a challenge on right now (and you don’t even have to use a Whimsie Doodles stamp – although, why wouldn’t you?!  They are cute, cute, cute)!

I did it!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!  I finally snowed this week, and I finished up more of the Christmas layouts that have been eluding me!  Get this – I even finished up teacher gifts?!!!  I know, right?  What has gotten into me?  Well, to start – some cute paper!

My oldest could not be outdone by the Christmas cookie layout of her younger sister, so I had to pull one together of her too!  I used the same cute collection from Doodlebug called Sugarplums, but this time, situated everything on a white background (this is some of the embossed white paper from DCWV), for contrast!

This layout is really all built on simple strips of paper and lots of layered embellishments (get out the foam adhesive for more dimension). And come on, how cute is that little gingerbread girl diecut?!  I think I need to get another package because those would make perfect pop ups for pop up cards!

The other day I heard someone say that we are 6 weeks away from Christmas!  Can that be right?  I think it might be time to get to those Christmas cards!

Doodlebug fun

Well, the time has come to get caught up on Christmas scrapbooking!  Why?  Well, because I am about 6 years behind…yup, for some reason Christmas is the one season that I have gotten really far behind on.  The funny part is that I love Christmas – it’s my favourite time of the year.  Maybe it’s the pressure I put on myself to get those pages “just right” that has me put the off!  But no more – I am catching up (well, I am getting at least one year done before another one creeps up)! 😉

It’a a good thing I have some fun Doodlebug paper on hand (yup – it’s been patiently waiting for me to get to it)!  This one is called Sugarplums, and it is perfect for my cute sugarplums!  One of our favourite traditions is baking Christmas cookies…well, actually decorating Christmas cookies…with SPRINKLES!!!  It’s hard to see in the picture on the layout, but that little monkey of mine is pouring on the sprinkles!  Yum?!

yummy-closeup-1But I have to admit that my favourite part of this layout is actually this one little sticker from the sticker sheet in the collection!  I mean, come on…how cute is that?  I need to get another sticker sheet for my gingerbread layouts too!

Okay, enough typing…I have a full collection of paper out on the kitchen table for more layouts!  My goal this weekend is 6 layouts!  Think I can do it?
