Road trip (I wish)

Hello crafty peeps!  It’s the first Tuesday of the month, so that means it’s challenge time over on the Tiddly Inks challenge blog.  That also means that I get to share some inspiration for this month’s theme – Road Trip!

Now, I am just coming off of a week off of work, so you would think that I might have road trip story up me sleeve.  The truth is that this little holiday didn’t really include any such adventures.  So, for inspiration for this challenge, I tried to think about where I would have liked to have gone…and that simply included a place that was warm enough that I could have some fun swimming with my girls! Give that, out came the adorable new digi from Tiddly Inks called Wryn Beach Party

Yup – if I could have, I would have pulled out the flip flops and floaties and driven somewhere where they would have been useful.  But since that wasn’t the case, I grabbed my Copics and made use of those instead! Matching the image to some Pebbles Fun in the Sun paper, creating this little card was enough to take me away – if not in body, definitely in spirit!

Now it’s your turn.  So get crafty (and don’t forget to consider the theme in your work).  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks for stopping by!

More bang for your buck!

Last week, I posted some cards created with stamps from Tiddly Inks that I thought were a great deal.  In each case, Christy packaged images together, so one purchase really meant many images to colour.  Well, the image I am featuring today is a brand new set that packs tremendous value – especially if you love mermaids!

Amy and her Mini Friends actually include 6 cute stamps for you to use!  This one was my favourite because she reminds me of a my youngest daugher who is not only a huge fan of Ariel, but also of Nemo! july-29-cu I used my favourite Copic hair combination (E13, E15,E18, R69) to give a auburn look – I love the warmth and depth of this combination. I kept the colouring on the rest of her body fairly simple, although next time I think I would add some purple to the tail to give some more dimension!  All in all, I’m happy with the way this one turned out, and the Pebbles paper that I used is a perfect fit!

We are on a quick Tiddly Ink vacation this week, but will be back on Tuesday with a new challenge – one that this card would actually fit quite well into – stay tuned!

In the meantime, have a great day (hopefully a sunnier one than we have here in Calgary).  Thanks for stopping by!

Wryn – BBQ Queen

BBQ-front

Good morning everyone!  It is another smokey summer day here in Calgary, and I have a little BBQ inspiration for you from Tiddly Inks (although I swear all the smoke here in Calgary is not caused by our BBQ)!  Earlier in the summer, Christy released some new images at Tiddly Inks, and Wryn The BBQ Queen is one of my favourites!  I coloured her up with my Copics to match some really cute paper from Pebbles called Fun in the Sun.  I have used it a lot this summer!  I topped the card off with just a bit of eyelet from May Arts for some texture and a pop of white for contrast.  I love the colours on this card!

While we are talking about Tiddly Inks, I wanted to remind you that we have a challenge going on right now over at the challenge blog – Have a Heart!  There are so many great images that would fit into this challenge – like the adorable one I used on the card called Wryn – Happy Heart.

Heart-front

The great part about challenges is that the theme is just for inspiration – if you don’t have a TI image with a heart, there are lots of other ways to participate int he challenge!  Add a heart button or embellishment, use some heart paper or even doodle a heart somewhere on your card.  We love seeing your creations, so make sure to join in and link up!

Well, I am off to work!  Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!
