Good morning everyone! It’s a chilly morning here in Calgary, so I am hoping to warm up a little bit by sharing a a hug…
…a little hug in the form of a Tiddly Ink! It’s challenge day again, and this time we are working with the theme of “Animal Magic“. Lately, my oldest daughter has been all about owls, so I though that Owlways Love You would be a great little image to colour up!
It’s no secret that Christy’s character Wryn is one of my favourites, and I love the detail and unusual shape of this image in particular! I used the E11-18 family for both the branch and her hair, and then played a bit with colours on the owls to match the Doodlebug paper that I chose for the card base (these ones happen to be from the Sweet Treats collection). It’s a great image for a last minute card (not that we ever have to make those, right?) because, while there are a lot of fun details, there is actually not a lot of space to colour. And really, who would appreciate the war hug?
So, for the challenge this month:
use any Tiddly Inks animal image
(Cats-birds-dogs..anything with an animal in)
and there are number for you to choose from! Link it up on the blog post, and you are all set to go! And remember, you have a full month now to enter the challenge, so no excuses! Remember, this cutie is a breeze to colour up!
Thanks for stopping by!
Okay, I am really not sure what happened to September but October has arrived. Here in Canada, that means we get to look forward to Thanksgiving this coming weekend, and Halloween just around the corner. So, the new release digis from My Whimsical Little World could not come at a better time! Fisrt up is Spooky Owl, a cute new digi that is perfect for Halloween, but is also great any time of the year (Think of all the fun owl puns you could use)!
Next up is Thanksgiving Cupcake:
I love this image, and although I used it on a card, how cute would this be to top off some cupcake packaging or even a treat bag! It would also make a great iamge for a thank-you card or gift (“Thanks for being so sweet”).
Finally, this is my favourite of the releases today – Pilgrim Girl.
Isn’t she cute? And that turkey just makes me smile! I coloured up all of these images with Copics and topped them off with some paper from Doodlebug (Friendly Forest). Oh, and the ribbon is from May Arts (just in case you hadn’t guessed)! 😉
And don’t forget, we currently have a Purple/Green/Orange challenge (deadline is Oct 8), and Paola has a coupon for 25% right now over in the store. Head on over to the blog for more details.
Last but not least, make sure you stop by the blogs of the other DT members to see what they whipped up with these great stamps!
Good morning Krafty Friends! It’s Saturday, so that means it is challenge time over at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps, and this is a great one because hostess Tangii has given us a sketch to work with today!
I love sketch challenges because they often get me using my supplies in new ways. I happen to be one of those crafters that usually likes things straight across or up and down – somehow things look “wrong” to me when I try to put them at and angled or haphazard. But as soon as I saw this sketch, I knew it could totally work for me! It seemed balanced and I loved the way the diagonal l seemed to point to the stamp – in this case one of my favourites from the You Know Whooo set. I coloured the image up with Copics to match this pretty paper from Simple Stories, and then topped it off with a bit of ribbon from May Arts.
So there you have it! I hope you will consider joining us for the challenge. We always love seeing what you create! Have an awesome weekend and thanks for stopping by!
It’s hard to believe that it is back to school time! I have two days left before I head back, but I know that many of you are back into the school routine. What better way to “celebrate” than with some crafting time, right? So this week, our Kraftin’ Kimmie challenge is all about “back to school”.
Today, I decided to use one of my favourite stamps from the “You Know Whooo” set. I just love this little owls big, expressive eyes, and you can have a lot of fun with all the details (like adding a bit of Stickles onto those stars). I know that there many little guys and girls (and probably some bigger ones too) who might need a bit of encouragement to get the year started, so I created a card just for them! I thought this stamp would be super cute on a lunch note or bookmark too!
So, create a card, scrapbook page or altered item (with a Kraftin’ Kimmie stamp) and share it with us here! Get creative! Perhaps someone needs a bookmark or a new notebook for class!! Have some krafty fun and join us this week because we’d LOVE to see your KKS designs.
Make sure you go and check out all the new stamps and paper pads in the Kraftin’ Kimmie store! And take some time to hop around and see the inspiration from all the Krafty girls! There are lost of fun back to school projects for you to enjoy!
Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for stopping by!
