It’s inspiration time for those of you who love to colour over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog. This month, the theme is “Anything Goes” so the only thing we have to worry about is getting crafty! Let’s just say that while I like a good challenge theme, “anything goes” is one of my favourite!
For this cute fall inspired card, I decided to use a new set from Christy called Fun Animals.
This set is filled with all sorts of cute animals and great little sentiments to go with each. You can mix and match them, add little details like the nut I used or even hearts and party hats. This set is a great value – you could create any theme of card you could imagine for any time of the year! If you love little fur babies, this set is for you!
I coloured up the cute squirrel with my Copics, focusing mostly on the warmer browns (E21/E23 for the body and E13/E15/E17/E18 for the tail). I actually didn’t blend all the colours together on purpose to create a bit more of a cartoon look to this cutie with some harder edges for the shadows. Together with the browns and oranges in the background paper (which happened to be from the scrap bin), I love that this is a card is a bit more on the fall tones.
But remember, this month, the theme is Anything Goes, so if you are not ready to embrace fall, grab your pastels or brights and create something that, well…isn’t “fall”. Whatever you decide, I hope you do get crafty and upload a card to the challenge. It’s always fun to see what you come up with.

Well, it is definitely fall here in Calgary. Watching the news this morning, the dreaded “s” word was even mentioned (that would be “snow” for those of you who live in warmer climates)! While I do love the summer, I have to admit that I really do enjoy this time of year as well – beautiful colours and more excuses to stay inside and craft! But don’t tell anyone!
So, today’s challenge over at the Tiddly Inks challenge blog is timely indeed! Can you guess:
It’s Fall y’all! Now truth be told – fall colours are not my usual “go to”, but I think I may need to change my mind because I am loving this challenge! I used some doodlebug paper as an inspiration for my colours and chose a few that I don;t think would be typical fall colours for Wryn – purple and teal. But combined with the rich orange and the the pops of green, this card reminds me of anything pumpkin spice and everything nice!
And the best part about this little Wryn image is that although she is called “Wryn in the Fall”, colour her up with some green and red and she would make the cutest Wryn in the Winter too! Hmmm…that gives me an idea…
In the meantime, go check out all the inspiration cards on the blog – they are all pumpkin spicey nicey! And then get out your own colouring tools of choice and join us for the challenge! Remember that we choose one winner per challenge who will receive a $10 gift card to use in the store.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week everyone!
Sometimes I think I have a split colour personality. I love to use bright and bold colourswhen I am crafting, but every time I step out of my comfort zone and try something a bit more neutral, I think “Why don’t I do this more often?”
This is a cute little image from a Tiddly Inks set called Mini and Many friends. It is one of four images in the set, and when the two characters and flowers are left as placed by artist Christy, there is a perfect spot in the middle for some hand lettering.
I did add a bit of silk ribbon to the card to soften the look a bit. I love silk ribbon because even when tied, it lays down flat. It’s a perfect addition to cards that need to go in the mail because it doesn’t create a lot of bulk!
So what do you think? Should I go back to the bright and the bold?

Here in Calgary, we seem to have jumped right past fall and straight into winter (complete with heavy snowfall warnings for the last two days), but I refuse to ignore this beautiful season – partially because one of my all time favourite stamps from Kraftin’ Kimmie happens celebrate this time of year! I happen to appreciate any excuse to use it!
So, for this week’s KKS Wonderful Wednesday challenge, Lulu from “Hey There, Punkin'” is making another appearance! I coloured her up to match this cute Doodlebug paper, and although this happens to be Doodlebug’s fall collection from last year, a little birdie told me that Kimmie has the new one in the store right now (I might have picked one up)! The sentiment is hand lettered and that fun ribbon happens to be from May Arts!
Okay, so now it’s your turn to get krafty! We want EVERYONE to be able to play along so your submission can use ANY stamp and can be any theme, any style, any design and it can be a card, a scrapbook page, an altered item….you name it!! It must be a NEW creation and you can enter on the KKS post until September 16th at midnight! At the end of the month one random winner will be chosen from all the submissions for the whole month and will receive a $20 Gift Card to the shop!!!
Have a great Wednesday, and thanks for stopping by!
