Animal Magic

Good morning everyone!  It’s a chilly morning here in Calgary, so I am hoping to warm up a little bit by sharing a a hug…

…a little hug in the form of a Tiddly Ink!  It’s challenge day again, and this time we are working with the theme of “Animal Magic“.  Lately, my oldest daughter has been all about owls, so I though that Owlways Love You would be a great little image to colour up!

It’s no secret that Christy’s character Wryn is one of my favourites, and I love the detail and unusual shape of this image in particular!  I used the E11-18 family for both the branch and her hair, and then played a bit with colours on the owls to match the Doodlebug paper that I chose for the card base (these ones happen to be from the Sweet Treats collection).  It’s a great image for a last minute card (not that we ever have to make those, right?) because, while there are a lot of fun details, there is actually not a lot of space to colour.  And really, who would appreciate the war hug?

So, for the challenge this month:

use any Tiddly Inks animal image
 (Cats-birds-dogs..anything with an animal in)

and there are number for you to choose from! Link it up on the blog post, and you are all set to go!  And remember, you have a full month now to enter the challenge, so no excuses!  Remember, this cutie is a breeze to colour up!

Thanks for stopping by!

Holly Jolly Molly

Good morning crafty friends!  If you are feeling a little under the weather right ow like we all are in my house, I have a little card today that will hopefully bring some smiles!

molly-closeupIt’s challenge time at Tiddly Inks (our last on of the year), and I decided to use one of Christy’s newest images – Holly Molly!  Isn’t she sweet with those little fairy wings? I coloured her up with Copics to match some Doodlebug paper, but besides her hair and the bow there actually want’t too much colouring on this one!  She’s a great one if you still have to make some last minute cards – like me!!

Oh, one last thing!  While there is sad news over on the challenge blog, there are also some details about a cute freebie!  So, while you head over to see all the inspiration and to enter the challenge, don’t forget to check for that too!

Well, I am off to make lunches!  Thanks for stopping by!

Feet jammies!

Both of my little girls have always loved “feet jammies” – you know, the pajamas that go all the way down and cover up your feet.  Now I have no idea how they can stand them – the idea of anything covering my feet at night makes me squirm (and oddly enough, anything covering the little ones feet any other time also makes her squirm).  But they love their feet jammies, and at 7 and 5, they both still get a pair every year at Christmas!

elf-closeupSo when Christy put out this new digi at Tiddly Inks, I couldn’t wait to make it into a Christmas card.  This new character is called Molly, and this particular image is Sweet Dreams Molly.  I coloured her up with Copics in really simple colour scheme actually – just pink, green, red and grey and placed her on top of some fun Doodlebug paper (this collection is Sugarplums).  I topped off the card with a May Arts bow and the card was all set for my Christmas mailing (which I actually better get done this weekend)!

I think this one might be my favourite Christmas card this year!

Don’t forget that it is Fabulous Friday over at the Tiddly Inks challenge blog, so the design team has all sorts of inspiration to get you in the crafting spirit.  And our most current challenge is still open so you have a few days to get in on that as well!

Okay, my Fitbit is buzzing so I better get the rest of my day started!  Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

Frosty Feeling!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  The frosty mornings have started, the neighborhood is filled with lights and most importantly, my birthday has passed.  So now, it’s time to get ready for my favourite time of the year…
warm-wishes-full
…which includes pounding out some Christmas cards! Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog got me started this week!  The theme is Frosty Feeling, so think luscious ice, snow, wintery images, Icy cold colour themes, such a blue and silver….
warm-wishesfrontWhenever I think of “frosty”, one of my favourite Tiddly Inks images comes to mind –  Cocoa Wishes!  I love this cute image of the character Wryn.  I coloured her up to match some Christmas themed Doodlebug paper I have been working with lately called Sugarplums – it’s bright and cute and filled with the fun colours you know I like to use!  So while this card doesn’t really scream “Christmas”, I think it’s a cute change on the traditional colours!
So, I think I have another 12 or so cards to make!  I have to admit that I am usually a last minute Christmas card sender…what do you think?  Can I break with tradition this year and have them all on the way by December 10th?  Care to make a wager?
