Ribbon Scraps Galore!

Good morning!  It’s a sunny day here in Calgary after a tornado warning yesterday, so needless to say, I happy to be able to share a fun post with you today!

The team over at May Arts ribbon thought it would be a great to have a hop showing you different ways to use up your ribbon scraps.  If you are anything like me, I save every little bit of ribbon.  If I trim some for a bow, it goes in my ribbon bag.  If I decided on a different piece, it goes in the ribbon bag.  If I only have a bit left at the end of the roll, it goes in the ribbon bag!

So, to tackle this challenge, I decided to get serious about using some of these pretty odds and ends.  My first task was to dump it all out and see what was actually in there.  I managed to find some of my favourites – including the 3/8″ adhesive ricrac and 1/4″ navy silk ribbon! Honestly, you can never go wrong with red and blue, right?!

Then I decided to find some coordinating paper – this happens to be from Pebbles in and is called Fun in the Sun.  With that in hand, I went through the stash again and founf a few more pieces that coordinated – including some of the String Burlap in a few different colours. With a variety of widths and textures, I was set to go!

All I did to create this look on the card was to use a craft knife to cute a piece of white cardstock, and then tuck the the ribbon across and through the cuts in the a variety of directions.  Scor-tape was a perfect choice to adhere the ribbon on both the front and the back so it didn’t pop back out through the cuts.

So there you have it – I managed to use up a few of my scraps for this project!  And yes, the rest went back into the bag! 🙂

The Ribbon lady is giving away 3 grabs bags filled with new releases to go with the scrappy theme of this hop, so make sure you take some time to pop by the blogs today and leave some comments.  We would love to hear how you use your scraps as well!  Here’s who we have up for you today:

Thanks for stopping by!
