Pennant Flower Tutorial

Making Flowers with Banner Ribbon

Happy New Year’s Eve Eve!  It’s tutorial time today, and I have a new flower for all your bloom lovers (and I know there are a few of you out there because flower tutorials are still the number one posts here at SCS).  Now, I know there are all sorts of creative companies out there that create beautiful flower embellishments, but I just love sitting down and using different materials to create my own.

When the new 1” Adhesive flag ribbon (A486-1) was released at May Arts, I was in heaven! I love this ribbon, not only because it is an easy way to add texture and color to a project, but because the size and shape make it perfect for creating flowers! Here’s a little video to show you how:

I have used these little flowers on cards (one of my favorites is the poinsettia-inspired bloom that found it’s way onto a Christmas card this year), headbands, scrapbook pages, witches hats and even on gift bags! I hope you are inspired to create a few blooms of your own!  Thanks for stopping by!
