Warm wishes

ma core

Well, the weather took a nasty turn for the COLD the last couple of days here in Calgary, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect!  Today, May Arts is teaming up with one of our partner companies, Core’dinations, for a fun blog hop.  In fact, DT members have been posting amazing projects all week, and we have a few more days to go!

One of the things I love about Core-dinations Kraft Core is the rustic feel of their papers.  Scuff it, sand it, crinkle it, and you get a fantastic look that reminds me of a winter cabin.  So I thought this hop would be a great chance to team up some Kraft Core papers together with some of the cute 1/2″ Check Stitch  ribbon from May Arts to create some little hot chocolate containers, complete with marshmallows.

Once I got going, I couldn’t help but add a bit of 1″ Eyelet ribbon as well for a bit of contrast and to soften the look of the containers a bit.

Oh, and to create these little containers, you won;t need any special die cuts or fancy machines.  Grad a little box or bar of soap, cut your cardstock to 6″x9″, adn fold it around like you are wrapping a present, leaving the top flap open to fill and then fold over.  it’s as simple as that!

Hot-Chocolate-singleSo, you need to know that leaving a comment is worth the effort today because both companies are generously giving away product to lucky commenters, including three rolls of ribbon (your choice) and goodies from Core’dinations.  Oh, and make sure you hop on over to see what another Karen has up her sleeve today too!

Well, I’m ready to curl up in a winter cabin with a good book and a cup of hot chocoalte now, aren’t you?  Thanks for stopping by!
