Well, we are a long way from graduations in our house (my oldest will be starting kindergarten in the fall), but it seems that everywhere I look, there are grad dresses, limos and graduation caps! So I thought it would be fun to put together a bit of an unconventional graduation card for you today!
Given that graduation usually (always??) involves schools of some sort, I thought it would be fun to use some papers from DCWV’s Chalk Fun stack. This is a great stack – that paper is chalkboard style, so you can actually use chalk on it, and there are all sorts of vibrant colours and great frames and sentiments to work from. Some of the sentiments are larger (perfect for scrapbooking and for Project Life type project), and there are others that are small enough for even a 4 1/4″ x 51/2″ card like this one!
I also decided to team up the sentiment with a fun flower – created with some of the double-sided cardstock from DCWV (the dark teal is one side, and the lighter background petals are the other). I topped it of with a few drops of Pearl Accents, and then placed some tulle behind for a bit of texture. Oh, and if you like this flower shape, stay tuned because I will have a tutorial for you next week – no special tools required!!
Well, that’s it for me today! I have more fun cards for you this week, and even a scrapbook page or two for variety! Have a great week, and thanks for stopping by!
