Mini album madness

Welcome to a clearly inspirational pairing of amazing products! Over the next few days, DCWV is partnering with Clear Scraps, a company that produces high quality acrylic products that compliment all the fun DCWV paper products.

Designers from the talented DCWV team are joining together with the very creative Clear Scraps team, and we have great projects to show you featuring clear, acrylic albums and
whimsical paper from the Jolly Whimsy DCWV stack.  Hopefully, you have arrived from Hilde Janbroers-stolk’s blog – if not, make sure you start right back at DCWV and comment along the way so you don’t miss your chance to win some great prizes!

When I opened up this stack, I feel in love with the one piece of paper featuring a cut image of Santa.  I immediately got out my scissors and did some fussy cutting, and Santa not only became the focus for my cover, but also the theme of this album.

I decided to challenge myself to embrace the clear quality of this album (crystal clear, in fact), so on some of the pages, the paper only covers part of the page.  This does take a bit of planning because you will see the back side of your work on the other side of the page, but it also adds a huge amount of interest, different shapes and borders.

I wanted to give you a bit of an example of how the clear pages added a fun design element.  Here’s what the page looks like when you can see the other behind…

And here’s what it looks like open on it’s own..

Kind of fun, right?!

Album-8bThere are so many fun tags and embellishments in this stack that add all sorts of fun details.  Everything in the album was simply cut with a paper cutter or a pair of scissors.  No fancy die cuts or die cutting machine required!

Paired together with some fun buttons, some great ribbon (from May Arts) and some twine (from Trendy Twine), this cute album is ready to make it’s debut this Christmas season! I hope it’s one my little gals will enjoy looking at for years to come!

Well, that it for me today!  It’s time to head off to Britt Bass’ blog.  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I already love this Jolly Whimsy stack but yours is wonderful because the Santa really “pops” since you cut him out! Love the banners through out and that the acrylic is see through in places! After all it is Clear Scraps!
