I am looking outside the window right now, and all I see is rain! We have had a beautiful May up here in Calgary, but the last couple of days have been rather soggy. So I am so excited to share a card for this week’s Kraftin Kimmie challenge that is anything but rainy – it features Lexi from the new Totally Tubular stamp set at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps.
This week, the challenge is all about “Fun in the Sun“. You can interpret that in any way you like – things stamps, colours, shapes…anything that makes you think of summer. Then link it up on the Kraftin’ Kimmie blog and potentially win some great new stamps from the most recent release! And don’t forget to check out all the other great inspiration pieces from the Krafty Gals!
For this card, I stamped Lexi with my trusty Momento ink in Tuxedo black, coloured her with my Copics, and then fussy cut her to place on the background. Why the fussy cutting – well, I actually wanted to add some dimension to her glass so it looked like she was holding out towards the recipient of the card.
If you look closely, you might notice that the Lexi and her pool are glued flat to the surface, but her glass is actually held out with a foam square behind it. This does create a bit of a fragile section where her arm is not directly glued to the card, but I think the effect is well worth it!
I hope you’ll consider joining that challenge this week! I would love to see a bit of sunshine on a gloomy weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!
