Thank-you Teacher – an embossing challenge

Well, welcome back for another challenge with Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!!!

This week our hostess is SANDIE!! And her challenge is Heat or Dry Embossing!! So create a card, scrapbook page or altered item with a Kraftin’ Kimmie stamp that features either heat embossing or dry embossing!

I decided to have a little fun in anticipation for National Teacher’s Week!  Some of you might know that I am a teacher in my spare time ;), so this is a day near and dear to my heart!  And yes, I know there are lost of horror stories of awful teachers and awful school situations.  Sometimes it just seems we are so much more willing to share those stories than those of situations in which teacher’s made a difference.  I’m glad we have a time to honour those that do make a difference…because there is magic in that!

I thought the Mother Goose stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie was a perfect fit for this card, together with some Doodlebug paper from the FlowerBox collection and some ribbon from May Arts.  And my embossing was a little trick I learned to create this polka dot effect on the card base:

The secret is to simply take mini glue dots and place them around your paper.  Sprinkle with embossing powder, heat it up and voila – a darling, textured polka dot!

Make sure you take some time to check out the wonderful creations by our Krafty Girls featuring this week’s challenge!! And if you join us, you could WIN a Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamp!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
