A Spring Fling!

Tombow bloghop

This month, the DCWV Design Team paired up with the talented ladies from Tombow Adhesive’s team to celebrate spring and share a bit of inspiration.  If you have come here from Tessa’s blog, then you’re on track! If not, you should go back to Jennie’s blog and start today’s leg of the hop from there!

Today, I thought I would share a little project that teams up the surprises of spring with the beautiful blossoms that are right around the corner!

Secret-box-closedThis little gift box was made with a combination of cardstock from the DCWV Double Sided Cardstock stack  and cute patterned paper from the Chickadee Stack.  This is the perfect type of project to feature these double-sided products because in a lot of cases, you can actually see the underside or backside of the paper.  For instance…

Secret-box-open

Yup – it opens up!!  And that means you will find all sorts of new, fun patterns and colours on the inside.

This is an awesome project called a Secret Box, and you can find all the instructions with a “how to video” right here.  Now I have to tell you – this project really became a powerhouse with the help of the Tombow adhesives.  Because it opens and closes and has shelves suspended only on two sides, strong adhesion is a must!  I used the AWESOME Tombow Stamp Runner for all the layers (I love the versatility of this tool) and the Mono Multi Liquid Glue for all parts of the construction.  I love the fact that I can really man-handle this project and it stays so strong!  Yahoo for great adhesive!!

Secret-box-flower

Oh, and if you want to top this project off with a pretty flower like this one, I have a tutorial for you right here at ScrappyCanuck Studios! You don’t need any fancy cutting machines or die cuts – it’s all hand cut and rolled!  You can do it!!!

Thanks for joining us for the hop today!  We have one more day of projects for you, so be sure to pop by DCWV tomorrow and see what the ladies have up their sleeves!

Thanks for stopping by!
