Little One!

My youngest daughter is almost two (seriously…how on earth…) so I wanted to scrap a few pictures of her that I took on her birthday last year.  They are some of my favourite pictures because I think it really shows off her bright, playful nature!

Little-One-full-2Recently, I’ve been playing around with stamping on my background papers.  Why do I not do this more often!  I love the subtle, distress effect (yahoo for Distress Ink).  The paper is from my new favourite DCWV stack called The Butterfly Gardens.  And if you don’t believe that it is actually my favourite – stay tuned – I think I have 5 projects to share with you in the next week with paper from this stack! It is really gorgeous, and perfect for anyone who loves to fussy cut!

The butterflies on the page are simply fussy cut from some of the patterned papers and then adhered in the centre so I can fold the wings up a bit to give the illusion that they have just landed on the page.  Even when they get squished down, the fact that the wings are not adhered still gives the illusion of depth.

And for a bit of icing on the cake, I teamed up this layout with some May Arts ribbon.  I looped short pieces to create a banner effect, and then created a beautiful big bow to create a bit of a focal point.  This ribbon is so awesome to work with!Little-One-bowIf you are interested in having a look at another project I created for DCWV with this stack, head on over to the Crafters Home website to see our feature! I’ll have more for you right here as well in the next few days!

Thanks for stopping by!
