I can see clearly now!

Last year, we started to notice that one of my daughter’s eyes was turning in every now and again.  Now, I will save you all the details, but one of the first steps to correct the situation was to get our little 2 year old some glasses!  Watching her in her new glasses was so interesting, and she has almost always been amazing about the whole process!

I have been waiting to scrap some of the pictures for just over a year now, and a couple of weeks ago, I found the inspiration to finally get the pages done!

It actually came from this a cute set of stamps from Karber that features a character named Leslie.  What inspired me in these digital stamps was that these were images of a little gal just doing her thing…dancing, eating cupcakes, hanging out…and she just happened to wear glasses.  It’s not easy to find stamps with little gals in glasses that aren’t “nerd” themed, so I knew that these stamps had to become a part of the story of these layouts!! I coloured up this version of Leslie with Copics, and paper pieced her dress with a design from the MME Quite Contrary collection.  I love how bright and cheerful the page is!

Oh, and I just had to add a few hidden pictures and journaling on this page!

I wanted to make sure you could still see that stamp when you opened the flap, so I placed Leslie so she would be peeking around the edge of the paper!  I think I almost like the layout better open than closed!

Summer layout!

Summer will be here soon, so I took the monthly MME challenge as a chance to get caught up on scrapping some pictures from last summer! I thought it was a good chance to get it in on the Gossimer Blue/MME guest designer hunt too!

This layout uses MME’s Quite Contrary collection and a bit of Twisted Lime Trendy Twine.  The stamped background was a combination of a Doodlebug stamp with some Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick and Peeled Paint.

I love this layout about my oldest daughter - a little gal who loves popsicles, but just finds them too cold to actually eat! I think she gets that from her dad!

Goldilocks in all her glory!

I love the Goldilocks stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!  I think it might be an obsession actually!  She is so much fun to colour, and I love the challenge involved in trying to make those cute curls of hers pop off the page. I think she is actually retired now (make room for more fantastic stamps), but I always think she is worth revisiting!

So when I recently made the top 10 for the Kraftin’ Kimmie guest designer challenge, I knew that Goldi was going to need to make an appearance.  I don’t need an excuse to use her, but it is fun to have one!

I decided to keep using the super cute MME Fine and Dandy paper (that I recently starting using after hoarding for a while) since this top ten challenge is all about PINK!  This collection has so many fun pink patterns, and some beautiful coordinating patterns in other colours for some variety.  I thought it would be fun to add some dimension to this little gal, so I grabbed that patterned paper and paper pieced her dress.  By cutting Golid into three sections, I was able to layer the image to add a bit of depth to the bottom of her dress, to the bears she is holding and even to the bows in her hair.  With my trusty Copics on hand to emphasize the shadows even more, this cutie steals the show on this card!

Looking at the card now, I think it would have so cute to have one of the bears coloured pink too!  Oh yeah – another excuse to colour her up again!

Having some fun with some spring cards!

This last week, Kraftin’ Kimmie challenged their customers to get crafty with some stamps and post the results to Facebook!  I managed to drag my behind out of bed a bit early on Sunday morning, and pull out the Copics  before the onslaught of mommy duties began.  I played with some fun My Mind’s Eye paper (Hip-Horray Girl and Lime Twist), and added a bit of my new Trendy Twine (see pictures for details on the yummy colours)!  Voila – some fun “springy” cards!

This is "Dance in the Rain" from Kraftin' Kimmie - she reminds me of my two favourite puddle hunters!

Don't you hate it when your day starts with a frog on your head??!! This card is laced up with Strawberry Cupcake!

"Lilith" is fun and sooo easy to colour!
