I can finally call myself Trendy! ;)

About 6 weeks ago, I came across a product called Trendy Twine.  Twine has become one of my “go-to” embellishments on projects lately, so I was excited to find a product that was bit different than the other twine I saw on the market – the twine is multicoloured – not just white with a colour, but variations of colours and even mixed colours (check out my favourites – Chocolate Truffle, Grape Fizz and Twisted Lime).  But even more impressive than the product was the customer service I received – friendly emails that made me feel like I was a really important customer (even though it was my first order).

So when Lesley from Trendy Twine mentioned that she had a design team call, I decided to throw my name in the hat!  After all, one of my favourite parts of designing is promoting and supporting great companies that I love. Today, I am excited to share with you that I was invited to join the team, and I can finally call myself a Trendy Gal (and while it still is not for my stunning wardrobe style – I’ll take it!! ;)) For the next 6 months, I am looking forward to sharing with you some ideas for ways to use twine on layouts cards, and altered items!  I promise to throw some tutorials in there too!

I love the dimension of the Trendy Twine – two colours plus white= fantastic!

One of the projects I created for the call was this altered jute spool!  Inspired by an idea I saw on Pinterest (a beautiful spool vase filled with real flowers), I decided to create a version that would last forever!  I hand cut and rolled some paper roses made out of Echo Park’s beautiful This and That Charming collection (these flowers are easier than they look – click here for a tutorial I created last fall). I wrapped the amazing Chocolate Truffle twine around the spool, and then used the Twisted Lime to add some “curly cues”.   Held together with my trusty hot glue, “Twine in Bloom” is one of my new favourite projects!

In celebration of the new Design Team announcement, Trendy Twine is also giving away a spool of your choice to one lucky reader.  What do you need to do?  Go and check out the new team and leave a comment on their blogs. Some of the ladies are returning, and some are new, but all are excited to share their creations with you!  So go check them out!

Thanks for stopping by!  I can’t wait to see you again soon!
